Hello! I've only been playing guitar for 8 months, self-taught, so I don't know very much at all. I've started writing my own music, which I enjoy immensly. When I say writing music, I only play a tune on my acoustic guitar, write down the chords, sing some lyrics...and that's my song.

I would LOVE to be able to put it all together to a proper good quality track that I can call my own.

I own a Samson CO1U USB Condenser Microphone, would this be compatible with any easy to use beginner friendly [affordable] multi-track recorders?

Please explain in layman's terms. I'm really that slow! lol

Google Reaper.

It's a pro-level recording midi+audio software computer program that can be used for simple stuff like recording one acoustic guitar track, then overdubbing a vocal in sync with that track.

You've already got the USB mic which will work with a computer but won't work with a stand-alone recorder like the Zoom MRS-8.

Reaper is the place to start because all of your basic questions can be answered in their on line forums.
