Do any chromatic tuners work with speech?

A friend is looking for a tuner that will work with speech. She bought one that wasn't suitable. I tried both of mine and they don't work unless you speak in a monotone voice. I told her there probably aren't any tuners that work that way but I'm throwing it out there just in case.

I have a Korg Cromatic Tuner, Model CA-30.
Its about the size of a small calculator, costs 20 bucks, and if you sing or speak into it, it'll tell you what note it was, and how sharp of flat that note was.

That's one of tuners I have. It works with a simple word like 'hi' but it doesn't work with complete sentences unless I speak in a monotone voice.

If you want a tuner fast enough to follow a polytone line you would need a strobe tuner and they aren't cheap. I'm not sure if they would even be fast enough. You would probably be best off recording the passage then doing some type of software analysis.

Learn to play the melody on piano or guitar. After all thats good musicianship.

If you are trying to sing a line, then yes, by all means, play it. It's the only way to do that. If you are trying to figure out what a person can hit, then you can use a tuner, but it's not practible to analyze a line of 20 notes.
