Well... yeah. I can go along with that statement. I even feel more comfortable with a cheap Behringer reverb-unit (which I don't even own), but I think that is because I find hardware reverbs easier to control than software (for whatever reason, I don't know).dachay2tnr said:I have come to the conclusion that ALL software reverbs suck. Even the Waves stuff - although it is a notch above most of the rest.

Either that or I don't know what the f*&k I'm doing (which is always a distinct possibility).
The other issue I've been wrestling with is "room sound" - i.e., how much of the "bad" sounding reverb is the result of the fact that the recordings are being done in a lousy sounding room. I haven't resolved that one for myself yet, but it could be a contributing factor.

Is there any other reverbs like it?

just that everything I try seems to be dull or lifeless - irregardless of where I have recorded the source.

There's an FXReverb which is not the same as the Soundstage. I think FXReverb comes from the FX1 pack, but is included in Sonar. Doesn't Sonar come with both the FX1 and FX2 packs? I have the individual FX packs, and I don't think I had to install them separately; I'm pretty sure they were included with Sonar, but not ProAudio versions. You can't buy them anymore individually, but FX3 I think you can, which is Soundstage, and has to be installed separately. That's assuming I remember how I installed everything awhile back. There should also be some other reverbs in the Cakewalk plugs, a reverb and a reverb mono, which I'm assuming are not so hot.
As for if any of them are worth anything, I haven't got a clue. I'm not even sure I know how exactly to use reverb, but I got a heck of a lot of it on my computer.
Have a great day!
