Dmt-8vl Hard Drive Options..help!!

I currently own the DMT 8VL, however my hard drive is only 540MB. I will be going to a computer show next month and plan to purchase another hard drive that meets the specs in the manual.

I was wondering if Could install a hard drive larger than 2+ gig in the DMT - 8vl? perhaps 10gig?
 
The Largest drive it will take is..4.3 gig /5400..this will give you close to 2 hours of recording time

Did you do a upgrade to put a 7200 6 gig in there?..Because I've been thru hell and high water and the best that I could do was the 4.3 at 5400..Also all the literature says that 4.3/5400 was the largest you could use..I tried a 10 gig/7200 and the drive wouldn't format also tried a 7 gig same thing..I've got two of them and its the same

Weird man, I've got a Maxtor 14 or 15 gig/ 5400 in mine and have had no problems. So does this mean that my dmt- will only use so many gigs of my hard drive and ignore the rest? I'll probably never know since I'll never get over two hours on the disc at any one time. I had no problem formatting. The only reason I got this big of size was it was the smallest available at the store I was at.

The only problem I had was that the new hd was physically smaller in size, and I had to rig a little bolt on thing to keep it in place. Was very simple though, In fact it was a bracket that came in the hd package.
