Just curious to know what some of you do-it-yourselfers are using to master your stuff?

Wavelab Essentials 6 with Ozone 3. But I'm not thrilled with WLE's cd burning capabilities. In fact it sucks, it seems they make their own list of drivers and it doesn't stay current. It's always a hassle to burn more than one cd. Everything else about WLE is great.

I have WLE7, and the $30 book I bought to learn how to use it. I have no time to read...... So, I wasted $130.....lol!

BTW, Wavelab 7 does not have an actual manual. Friggen stupid. 'RT non existent FM'! lol!

Ok, I just vented........

Feeling better now. :D

Awww man. I'm feeling buyers remorse over my purchase of WLE7 now!
:p

Waveburner, focusrite midnight suite, Logic's Adaptive Limiter, SSL intersample peak meter, TT dynamic range meter

and faceplam made me spit coffee with the giggles :laughings:

:laughings:

I've had this Wavelab manual open in a tab since I posted it here hours ago and still haven't read it

:(

what do you guys suggest me to use for mastering? and can you explain each of its purposes, the only thing I know about are limiters. :)

and it would be even more helpful if you could give me examples of options I could have with different budgets, £50, £100, £200, I have no idea how much things will cost so any help would be appreciated :)

Most DAW's have pretty much all you need for mastering. It's a matter of knowing what you need and how to apply it.

Compressor, limiter, EQ. All DAW's have decent ones.

Yeah. I've just learned that those things can all be applied to the master bus
I haven't been deep enough into Cubase yet to even hit the master bus :(
Looks like I need to go start a thread in the Cubase forum :p

@ollie99- Check out that link to the Wavelab Elements manual I posted and have a read of the "Wavelab elements concepts" section

I would not have even seen that Steinberg finally came out with a manual for WL7 Elements, if not for you Kid. Please allow me to endow you with great riches! Or maybe just a thank you. :)

There isn't really anything worthy of mastering, with stock plugins in Cubase. I look forward to see what the plugs in WL7 have to offer. At least I don't have to pay someone to get PQ codes anymore! Well, we will see...

Thanks Kid! :D

No problem! A thank you is more than enough.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around how powerful of a program WE7 is (or isn't ) in order to give me some comfort and confidence while mixing. Which will give me comfort and confidence while tracking. It's weird. It's like I'm working backwards

But now I'm a little busy playing with that new Ohm Studio beta!
