disabling direct monitoring during tracking

hello, i'm running cubase le5 with a tascam us-800 interface. my question is how can i silence the input to the device during tracking? The drummer i am recording would like to listen to scratch/click tracks without his drums overpowering the track, but i can't seem to bypass the mic'd drums looping back into his headphones. any help would be greatly appreciated!

figured it out, sorry for the spam. muted it at the us-800 control panel.

The manual refers to a Mixer tab of a control panel for the US-800. I would think you could make input monitoring adjustments there.
