I am begining the (slow) process of trying to assemble a decent home recording studio. As all of you know, this can be an expensive proposition. Among the items I am looking to pickup are a Mackie Mixer, and Event Gina, an AKG C1000 microphone and some effects proessor. In the meantime, I am using Cakewalk Pro and a Sound Blaster AWE 64 Gold Card as an interface. I don't have an external mixer right now and I would like to be able to:
a) get a good Mic sound for vocals
b) get a good Mic'ed amp sound
c) get a good Line amp sound
Two products which have caught my eye for these purposes are the Hughes and Kettner RedBox Pro and the MidiMan Audio Buddy. Any thoughts at which might be better? I am also considering taking my 100 bucks or so and investing in a ZOOM 503 to take care of my guitar/bass/amp problems.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
amonte
