does samplitude not allow direct x plugin automation? because i only see it for vst automation.

I'm sure there's a "Plug-in" section in the manual. That should list the type of effects you can use.

I would be very careful using direct x plugins in samplitude, it can cause the program to crash. make backups often if you need to do it. and do not under any circumstances put dx plugs on VST output channels.

No problems here with DX plugs in Samplitude Professional, though it may be that some freebie poorly written plugs cause problems. What do you mean by VST output channels?

sorry, VST(i) Output channels. You know, when routing a midi track through a VST instrument.

I never said all DX plugins caused problems, but some do.. poorly written or not, I would recommend not farting around with it to find out. I stopped using DX in Samp after losing a good half dozen sessions (wouldn't open until I disabled DX in the ini, and even then I lost a good deal of what I had done with the mix because of it)..

The reason not to do it on a VSTi output is that is where it happened the most, it gave some kind of mismatch error because I had used a DX plug on a VST channel, or something to that effect.

Got it. Thought I was missing something all these years. :) No, I didn't think you meant all DX plugins, just reporting my experience, or lack there of, with DX caused crashes in Samp. What version are you running Mistral? I'm still running V7 Professional.
