Direct-In Guitar w/ preamp

I just picked up an Aphex 1100 preamp, and it's great, but the one downside is that there's no instrument DI plug. Is there a good way to still get the goodness out of the preamp for my electric guitars and basses? In other words, would something like an impedance converter be what I need? Thanks!

get a di box, ask at any music store they'll know what it is.

oh and, you'll get a better sound mic'ing an amp, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Pads

I'm wondering if a pad would work. They are just three resistors...

Or a step-down transformer.
