Digidesign's Digi001 and PC's - Recording Studio Advice

Hi,

Is there anyone out there waiting on the pc version of the DIGI001?

A friend and I are about to pruchase some recording equipment we've been looking at for quite a while now, changing our minds and then changing them back again .. but we're very keen on the digi001 (pc) when its available.. to go with:

DIGI001 with Protools LE 5.0
BEHRINGER 2004A Mixer
AKG Drum mic kit (2xC1000,4 clip on mics, 1 egg kick mic)

we're still undecided on the following...

BEHRINGER Composer Pro MDX2200
AKG-501 Headphones
2x noise gates
Yamaha REV500 / SPX1000

This is our first real venture in the recording industry apart from using a bunch of tascam 4 track machines. if anyone can help with some advice, especially with information about the release of protools with windows98 (win 2000?) and whether or not noise gates are necessary for recording drums.

hehe, sorry I'm from Brisbane, QLD Australia.

I've heard a few rumours now about the DIGI001 pc version coming out late february/early march.

if anyone could help out with info on the outboard gear/a mixer that has 8 direct outs.
