any reviews on this product?
I want to get an audio interface to record drum loop tracks and keyboards into sequencing software
the plus of the M-Box is that it comes bundled with Pro-Tools, right?
I mean, a friend says Pro-Tools is 'industry standard'
But how does it compare to any of the other Acid, Cubase, MOTU shituff out there.

All recommendations/suggestions are greatly welcomed.

'pro tools' is an industry standard by default. In my opinion it's overpriced and underpowered. And very expensive - the software that comes with the M-box is not pro tools, but pro tools LE. There is a significant difference.

I have set myself up with a simple, efficient setup that meets all my recording needs and allows me to produce material every bit as professional sounding and 'pro tools' including looping drum tracks, tracking keyboards and using soft synths.

I use a Tascam US-122 as a USB midi and audio interface (around $ 200) and my main seqencer is Tracktion. You can get it free here.

hmm - GREAT!

and it sounds like the Tascam model to which you refer is geared up to compliment Cubase well as it comes with what I imagine is a freebie pared down version "Cubasis". I have tinkered with Cubase, as well as Acid, and have found them quite friendly.

I have bought the M-Box and I really couldn't be more satisfied with it!!! And Pro Tools LE works great for me! Moreover, I'm using the preamps *of* the M-Box, and they are just great. It also comes with Reason ADAPTED (this is NOT a full Reason version) and quite a few more nice thingies........ Anyway, I'm totally satisfied with it, plus the fact that it's usb powered is a great advantage imo............

I use the MBox as well & it suits my needs. I am perfectly content with Protools LE - very user friendly. My only complaint is with the hardware. I would like to have more than 2 inputs - a mixer will take care of that though.

Agreed. But still I prefer this box with only 2 ins than a crappy one with 4 or even 8...

Also big Pro Tools fan LE over here! The limitation of the LE version is no surround and a maximum of 32 channels.

The rest of the program is totally similar with 'normal' Pro Tools and is also compatible. IMO it is great, flexible and very fast to use. If you often record in a larger studio, the compatibility is also a big issue! And you get to learn how to use Pro Tools, the industry standard.

I'm not gonna bash other DAW, they all have their weaknesses and strenghts. I just give you my personal preference.

Dude not tring to be mean but Pro Tools LE is a better set up than what you are running, I have a Digi 002 and love it.
