Hey, so the other day while trying to track drums for a local band, my 003+R started making noise on the tracks that I was using phantom power on. It was a buzzing sound on some tracks, and a hiss on others. It has done this before, but went away until this occasion.

It only does it on the tracks that I have phantom power on.

I talked to digidesign, and they said to try powering my 003 and computer on separate circuits.

Any other ideas? Please don't tell me I have to send it in...

The obvious thing to do is check the mic and cables you're using...

I've tried 5 different mics, and a few cables. I'm actually wondering if it's the snake I'm using. Or something near it.

Well when I said try different cabling, that also would include ruling out the snake.

Try connecting a mic and cable directly to the 003. If that buzzes, use a known working cable (i.e. one which works flawlessly on another piece of equipment).

Yep, my 003 is fine. It's my snake.

Problem solved.

That was embarassingly easy. I was a bit panicked and frustrated haha.
