I was just wondering how you would go about
setting up the ultragain pro-8 with the digi 002 so that you would have extra channels displayed on the monitor of your computer. My digi 002 is set up for recording the room through a wall patch, with Macintosh computer and Pro Tools.

Any input? ( lame joke...urgh).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I am still new to the equiptment I'm using.

Hook up in to out and out to in on the light pipe and in the i/o settings set it to recognize inputs ADAT1-ADAT8 then you'll be able to select them in the input select.

There is an ADAT optical connection in the back of your 002. you hook the ADA8000 to the 002 by optical cables (you can pick these up at any local music store, or online for cheap). When you select an input on a track in PT, you have the options ADAT 1-8....that is your 8 extra channels.

hope this helps

Please read your manual, it will explain where and what the lightpipe is.

or search for "adat lightpipe" on this board. its basically a way to carry up to 8 channels of audio digitally.

Thanks to everyone, that helped alot..

The reason i asked was because:
a) I'm incompetent.
b) I didn't get a manual with my Pro- 8 or my digi 002
( actually, that's an exaggeration, I recieved a manual with my Ultragain Pro-8
but my ability to speak Russian is non-existant)

Thanks again to jonnyc, treymonfauntre, and blueroommusic!

Glad you got it going, if you need anymore help let us know. Oh and sorry I just assumed you had a manual.
