Different pitch shift for different tracks

I'm new to Cubase so I apologize if this is an easy one. I have 4 vocal tracks that I'm trying to apply different pitch shift settings to. Everytime I change the pitch shift on a track, it applies the same one to all the other tracks as well. How do I go about specifying different amounts to each track individually? Even when I locked them, it still did it. Stumped!

Select the audio event (The part of the track with the graphic of the wave form) and then transpose should show up in the black bar just below the main toolbar. se fine tune if you only want minor adjustments.

Weird, I don't have that black bar on my version of Cubase. Is there some sort of toolbar or view I have to enable for it to show up?

My version of Cubase doesn't have a black bear or even a red fox. :(

Maybe go into your projects folder and make duplicates of the source audio files of the track you want to pitch shift, then drag them back into Cubase and transpose them. Probably not the slickest way of doing it but it should work.

It sounds like the original problem was that Cubase was actually changing the original file... so you need multiple original files.

There probably is a better way of doing it but I think what I'm saying would get you there. Cubase most often has several ways of doing things.

Try hitting shift+F2. It should bring up a window allowing you to select info line. It will only appear when an audio event is selected.

Edit: should have mentioned the shift+f2 is a cubase5 thing. You can also get there with a button on the tool bar that has 3 squares on it. In cubase 4LE it's a button with a rectangle that has an arrow underneath it.

If that still doesn't help search for "info line" in cubase help.
