I'own 2 MXL 1006. Dont buy this. They are for sale. Want buy them? This make good sense uh?

They are pure crap. Hard to explain how they sound, but lets say bass, mids and highs are in pain.

Anyway, just an advice. You can find way better mics on you budget.

I paid 215$ CAD for each of them, + 110$ CAD for 2 MXL shockmounts.

Then I saw these mics on the internet. 59$ USD, with the shockmount and a case.

So about 2 years ago, I paid 540$ +tx so, 621$ CAD for two MXL1006. (a bit more than 450$ USD) 59$ + 59$ = 450$. hmm.

anyway..
I never appreciate them. I never return them cuz I always tought : hmmm, maybe I'm not using them the way I should. Lets try something else with these mics..

And, about 2 years later, I'm still trying something else. I'm trying to sell them.

Fred - (who is not interested by any MXL mics anymore.)

I don't have an N2 I have the NT1000. It is a really nice and well built mic. Don't know if they are similar but the SP B1 is a very nice compliment to the NT1000. It is less hyped in the high end but still has enough air to make it work well for vocals. It sound really good on my acoustic guitar as well. It's way better than my MK319. For under $100, it is definately my pick for and LDC.

Blessings, Terry

For $40 you can't go wrong on the Marshall V57. I love this mic on strummed acoustic guitar, harmonica and resonator guitar. It even works on vocals for really loud, bright singers.

Get the SP B1. It's another flavor (or lack of flavor) for your arsenal. You won't regret it.

Yep.....that's what I thought......I mean $40?......that's nothing.
It might not work for everything but it's gonna work on something and it's only $40. I'm mainly thinking about all those people who just use a SM58 and don't have a condenser.......sheesh......get one.
Oh.....in their catalog they show it as $49 but on their website it's $39.

I bought mine 3 years ago at Mars for $59, and it was a great buy at that price. For $39.99 it's a no brainer. I just now bought a second one.

re: V57M.

I looked at it over and over again when I got the advert from MF, but now that 2 people said "get it" - I just did. Peer pressure. ;) Probably should have bought 2, huh? A Google search turned up several people who thought it was useful.

Still looking for a steal on on SM7. :)

Thanks to everyone!
