difference between applying delay and reverb

Hi Albert,

My machine is a Roland Br 900cd, I’m sure you are familiar with it. All my recordings are acoustic guitar and vocals (at the moment with no overdubs as I am preparing to show my live performances to get more gigs. I record (usually on to two tracks one for vocal, one via another mic for acoustic guitar. I then add reverb (generally), to the guitar and delay to the vocal with a little reverb. I have then been bouncing them down to a stereo track, when I do this I add further reverb. I them master the track.
My question related to the fact that it appears that if you add the reverb/delay in these two “chunks”, it is likely that the overall sound will be inferior to applying delay/reverb just to each initial track.
I hope this explains the question better and I would value any comments you may have.
