Built mine over the last 25 years a piece at a time - upgrading along the way. Always on the lookout for good deals on quality gear and instruments - PAY AS I GO!

I'm just worried about my son bumping me off - he's a young budding musician and the sole heir to my goods! :)

I've been piecing my stuff together for the last 20 years. I wheel and deal on craigslist and ebay which supplies funds that speed up the process.

I usually find something, see the price, then go straight to my good pal EBAY. Even then though, I always would do cash versus taking out a loan, too much trouble in the long run.

I always laugh when somebody buys something on credit because it was on sale.It kind of defeats the purpose,ya' know.

I've always saved up for my gear, until last year, when I was fed up with everything I was using and went and got a loan. I am partially regretting it due to the interest I'm paying, but I got a few nice mic's, pre's, guitars and a dig piano I've been wanting for about 5 years. If I could go back I would save up instead, but you know how gear lust is at the time.

I'm very nervous regarding credit - I don't even own a credit card.
Being that MOST of my gear is 2nd hand, garage sale or from eBay I've managed to buy my stuff, slowly over the years, with cash or the electronic equiv.
But then again - I don't have a purpose built free standing, superbly set up studio like Supercreep, (nor the talent he possesses that justifies the expense).

I dropped (I mean charged) over $1100 on mics. Boy does it add up fast:eek:
