Did Led Zeppelin use phantom power?

It's such a short question, but a very doubtful answer.

How are we suppose to know if Zeppelin used phantom power or not??
Did he use dynamics or condensers? correct me if im wrong, but
did phantom power even exist back then? If you have
to use a condenser, you need phantom power for sure. so when
you buy a condenser, you cant ask yourself "should i really buy it?".
cause the truth is that you MUST.

Condenser mics and phantom power have existed for quite some time, definitely well before Led Zep ever stepped into a studio.

Led Zeplin had no need for mere "phantom" power.
The spirits channeled by Jimmy Paige (as evidenced in The Song Remains The Same) provided more than enough mystical electricity to run their recording sessions.... just listen to Bonham's drum sound! PHANTASMS I TELL YOU!!!!! PHANTASMS!!!!!!

The real question... is whether the phantom zeppelin used leaded... or unleaded.

:D

Should I use it?
No. They usually just brought their lunch to work with them.

what the hell kinda question is that?
It's not as bad as the guy in the mic forum who wanted to know how long it would take for his SM57 to warm up. He said, "I applied phantom power last Friday, and I'm still waiting to get some signal."

From American Heritage Dictionary:

sarcasm - n.
1. A cutting, often ironic remark intended to wound.
2. A form of wit that is marked by the use of sarcastic language and is intended to make its victim the butt of contempt or ridicule.
3. The use of sarcasm.

YES they used it. It came off their Pro Tools M-Box they recorded with. :D

Peace

AJ

I went to Guitar Center and bought some Phantom Power today. I don't know if this will make my recordings any better or not. I'll keep you posted.

yes, but back then it required an external power supply, which was powered by a squirrel.

you had to own a lot of squirrels, cause if they were all tired before the tracking was done, you could only use dynamics for the rest of the day.

ahhhhhhhh, the good old days.

(as a side note, squirrel power was also used to get us to the moon. now THAT'S a lot of squirrels)
