Did anyone get the YSM1p's yet?

Just curious. I know Yorkville released them and immediately sold out. They have orders set to ship in late October and November that are for backordered sales.

Did anyone get a set, and if so, what did you pay for them? I think I have found a Yorkville dealer that will sell them for barely over cost and shipping.

i quit waiting for them and went with the Tannoy ProtoJ's.....

Not a good answer! I don't have the Powered YSM's; however, I love the YSM-1 monitors that I DO HAVE. Hey, there are better monitors; I don't sell Yorkville. But, for the $$$ they are the best.

I've been waiting for the AW Yam 2816 for three weeks; it's due soon.

Why did I wait? It's one hellova unit for the $$. No! I don't sell Yamaha either but I sure have been a buyer for many moons.

well, I would have waited but Bruce said that he rathered the Tannoy Proto J's over the YSM-1's so I checked them out.......to my ears they sounded very similar, so I had to trust Bruce.....I think he just said that cause they are made in Canada eh:D

anyway, I got the Tannoy J's for 185.00/pr and a Hafler TA1100 amp for about 155.00.....under $350 for the set and Im a cheapskate.......

p.s. I waited a loooooooong time for those Yorkvilles before I gave up......

I have this hi-fi fanatic E friend who owns high end "listening" gear and has endless CD's.

I mentioned to him one time that Tannoy used to flood the American market with kind of cheap gear and he agreed; however, he also said that some changes took place and Tannoy started making pretty good stuff.

And, if BRUCE knows, he knows.

So, enjoy your gear no matter the price if it fits your ears. I guess that's what we all do.
