Depeche Mode ->Ultra->Track 3-> 3:47 Guitar

at 3:47 of track 3 of Ultra, a guitar appears. Does anybody know how to get that tone? Is it a guitar (sounds like one, but it's a little strange)?

I never got into Ultra.. Martin Plays a real guitar (Usually a Les Paul), but then and again, it could very well be a sample....



Why not turn that little spot into an MP3 and post it, and some of the guitar nuts can tell you.... You won't get in trouble for posting it, as it's only a little snippet of the song....

I always thought he played bigger guitars, Grestch hollow bodies. Maybe cause I saw him with one in 101 and when they came to Argentina.

Yeah, I think that was a grestch in 101... the ugly green coloured one.....

I have seen him with a Les paul a time or two..

you're right, it's called the two tone green aniversary Gretsch.
Check the Gretsch Artists page, he's there... funny, it's like Jimmy Page in the Synclavier Artist page.

I've got the album but I can't remember the song as I never really got into it. I'll have a listen to it tonight.

I know he uses real guitars but I once read in another forum that on that album he used a POD for the guitar sounds.

However, as someone has already suggested on this post, for all we know, it could be a sample of some sort.

Sounds like some sort of fuzz pedal.... And maybe Mart is doing some harmonics or something like that.... It does sound like a live guitar to me...

yeah, I was thinking it had some kind of phaser on it. I really like how fluid it is, specially when he does that high note.
