Hi,
Looking for a demagnetizer, and wondering if they're all pretty much the same? I've been looking at several on ebay, and there is quite a variance on price. I am needing to demagnetize my Teac A-2000 deck. Also, where does one get fluid for cleaning the rubber pinch rollers. Is the oil for oiling these decks simply sewing machine type oil?
Thanks

For demag (degaussing) tape heads look for:
1. TEAC E-3 (no longer made but found on eBay) for cassette and reel-to-reel up to 1/2"
2.Annis Han-D-Mag for reel-to-reel any size up to 2"

Caikleen Rbr for cleaning/conditioning rubber rollers

Yes, sewing machine or 3-in-one oil for lubrication is fine.

How to use RBR rubber cleaner on pinch roller:

- Squirt drops onto cotton tip (Q-tip) until saturated (or dip tip in can… whatever you have).

- Lift right tension roller and press play (with no tape on machine of course)

- Press Q-tip against rotating roller, taking care not to catch Q-tip between roller and capstan. Cover entire surface of roller with solution.

- Using second Q-tip press against roller until no more black is coming off unto Q-tip. Use more than one Q-tip if needed to dry off the roller.

- Release right tension arm and you’re done.

Demagnetizer And Cleaning Fluid

Just thought I'd get my $ .02 in. We have a good general demagnetizer as well as an outstanding tape head cleaner which also does very good on the pinch rollers and guides without leaving a residue. Let me know if we can help.

Thanks, Teresa
