Delta audiophile settings in n-track

Anyone using delta audiophile with n-track,
What should I have selected as the wave input and wave output devices in the wave devices dialog boxbox?

Been with midiman support on the phone for two days for many hours working through problems I have experieced for six weeks. I thought the problems were because I was a dummy since no one else ever heard of my problems. They are convinced I have a bad card after mucho work with them. Some still say it could be a software conflict (others my processor) so I have downloaded a few and trying it. Having same problems with n-track as with other programs, but wanted to double check the settings.
still will take the card back, and start over.

By the way this n-track is great!! Why didn't I look at this before?
Whenever I do get this card thing resolved this is the program for me!! Like I just read in this forum repeately -- real bang for the buck!

ok here are my settings......

on the first screen, i checked off all the stereo gangs....no checks in none of the mutes or solos.....all sliders pushed to max.....all pan sliders pushed to hard left and right....

in the patchbay/router, on the left side H/W In 1/2...on the right, Monitor mixer

in Hardware settings, selected Internal Xtal, 44,100 , reset rate when idle, single and in sync, and -10dbv....20ms buffer.....

spdif set to consumer and #1ap checked......

the main outs of your mixer should go to the line in RCA's of the Audiophile....from the line outs of the card to your monitors.....

go into Start/Settings/Control Panel/system/device manager and then click on computer...see if any other devices are on the same IRQ as the Audiophile.......

also, what size/speed hard drive do you have and how much space is there on it.....

lots of questions and some of them were probably already asked, but bear with me.....



on n-track use HW In 1/2 for your input, HW out 1/2 for your output....

I am very new to all of this stuff so please bear with me. I think I have the basics set up, but I don't quite understand how to set up my preferences. I have an Audiophile 2496. In the preferences box, I don't know what setting to select (Asio, MME, etc.). The only time I catch a signal in the Recording VU Meters is when I select the Asio setting. I noticed, however, that the settings for the VU meter get locked into 24 bit unjustified/left (or something like that; I'm not using the program right now). The n Track version I purchased is the 16 bit version. Will I run into problems when I actually start recording? Do you know why I get 3 columns in the VU meter when Asio is selected? Again, I am relatively clueless when it comes to this stuff. Any advice is GREATLY appreciated!!!

Regarding the IRQ settings I have changed those several times, to give it it's own slot. changed pysical slots the card is in three different times. and with the midiman support tech on the phone dowloaded 8 different driver configurations, and combinations-- none have worked properly. As I say after two days with them they say it's a bad card, I has worked right a few (very few) times. That's why I've been trying different sofware. The control panel is setup differently for different sofware.

I have a 533mhz celeron processor -- running 256 of crucial ram.
Are you sure about the left and right colum settings in the delta control panel and the in and out setting in N-track, and the setting in the wave out and in setting in the N-track wave devices window?

I'm going to buy a new comuter sytem this week (been planning it for a while.) and now having a hard time deciding which card to eventually end up with. Everything I've heard about the audiophile is wonderful, but man I have been through misery trying to get it to work. When even the midiman support guy gave up it sort of affected my confididence. But then so many people are running it a love it But now considering the echo mia Recording guy at the guitar center where I bought the card says it is my celeron processor. (That add's to the multiple other opinions.)

i have a 500mhz celeron (HP pAvillion at that) with 380mb ram, though i have run it with 128mb...i have all the buffers cranked.....

Well the only answer to my ongoing problems must be that I have a defective card. Taking it back this weekend.
Every setting available to mankind has been tried in the last few week, and every driver, with lots of input from the delta folks.

Just one other question if you don't mind.
You say in N-track you have selected HW in 1/2 for you input and HW 1/2 as the output.
I don't have those have those options available!

O.K. Gidge I have all the settings you have described set exactly as you list them.

I am going out of a Behringer eurorack MX 602A --I'm going from the main out to the ins on the card then from the out of the card back to the tape in on the mixer. (I do not as yet have monitors been doing it with headphones --- still deciding on monitors.)
I have tried every other setup I can think of. I would buy another mixer or other means of going into the card if I though that was my problem. I'm running a J-station into line in on the mixer.

Some have said I might be creating a loop. but I have skipped the mixer altogether. Gone straight into the cards inputs from the outputs of the j-station with nothing taken from the outs on the card (the mixer not even being involved) and it still records everthing from previous tracks onto succesive tracks.

With the mixer setup the way it is, -- it has worked for a day perfectly. Recorded 5 tracks sounded great. Then the problems came back. I was using guitar tracks at the time (but since seeing N-track and playing around with it I wont go back to guitar tracks.) Also since downloading N-track -- it did work great for a little while with N-track.
So I'm stumped!!

Buying a new system not just because of these problems but to give my son this one. But really gun shy now as to what to buy. Sure would like to get things to work on this one before I move on. I'm really hesitant to think it is a defective card but maybe.

Hey Gidge-

I work for HP in their tech support. I actually am not a tech, I just bill people for tech support. Anyway, I was a little curious... What's been your experience with HP, customer service-wise? since I only hear from people who have problems I don't have any sort of objective feel for the quality of HP computers. I may be looking to buy one... Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
