Just got the delta 44 sound card. Its hooked up to vista 32 bit OS. Input to m-audio dmp3 pre amp. Output to a surround sound receiver and speakers. Sound only comes out of left speakers. I've done some reading up and I guess I'm supposed to be using monitor speakers. Ok. Eventually I'll buy some. My problem is that I can't get any sound from my guitar or mic which is hooked into the preamp. The preamp shows that it's picking up signal . And in the delta control panel it shows that the line is being read but I get no sound in speakers from guitar. ITunes and other computer sounds I can hear.is it a setting in the delta control panel? Any ideas? I'm new to all this and it's becoming very frustrating.

i don't know the delta, but it sounds like it doesn't allow hardware monitoring.

You probably need to open a daw and set a new track up. record arm that track and then you should be able to hear your guitar or mic.

Some interfaces allow the user to switch between itb audio and live monitoring, meaning one way lets you listen to itunes/recordings etc, the other lets you hear whatever you plug in, live.
