I am running my mics through a mixer, and using the direct outs into a Delta 1010LT. I am using Cool Edit Pro2 to record in. However, the Delta 1010LT have rca inputs, and when I try to record, I only get audio in one speaker on each channel. Like inputs 3, 5, and 7 only record on the left, and 4, 6 and 8 only on the right. Anyone have any useful tips on this? Is it even possible to get sound in both speakers?
I want to record a drum kit, using at least 6 mics, and getting each mic-signal on an individual track in Cool Edit.
Any help is appreciated!

As for the RCA jacks, I simply got a patch panel, wired up all the inputs and outputs...slick.

I'm using SONAR 3.1 and don't have the problem you're describing with the channels vs. inputs. I suspect it's in the recording softare set up or something in your cabling set up. I can select the I/O pairs and assign them as descrete channels or as stereo pairs. I don't think the problem is with your card.

You mentioned using a mixer. If you're running audio to the mixer then the main outs to your card, you probobly have something going on with the mixer. You should be able to pan or otherwise "steer" your audio inputs to left-center-right of the main outs.

Tell us the details of your set up and connections.

To the original question:

I get what you are saying, I have a Delta 1010LT and experience the same thing. The 8 RCS inputs of the Delta 1010LT are split stereo pairs. So the Delta can record 8 Mono tracks or 4 stereo tracks simultaniously.

Since you want to record 8 mics at the same time, you will have to record all of you tracks in Mono. Make sure that you setup your tracks as mono or with the source for those tracks as mono in CEpro. I'm not sure how to do that but that's what I do in Sonar.

While you are recording you will only hear each track either full Left or full right depending on the input. But when you playback each track should play both Left and Right.
