I just got a 1010. I installed the correct driver. Do I need to uninstall my old c media sound card? How do I get to the 1010 properties? How do I get Adobe Audition to recognize the 1010? I am little overwhelmed at the moment.

I don't have a 1010, but I have a Delta 66. All Delta cards use the "Delta Control Panel". If I remember correctly it installs automatically. It's an "M" near your computer's clock.

When you have an instrument plugged in, you should see one of the meters lighting up. In Audition, you want to pick the port of the meter as your input.

Delta has some reasonably good examples in their manual. Just start clicking stuff in the control panel. You won't break it.

thanks

OK I'll start playing with it some more. I need a whole bunch of new patch cables though. Maybe I'll get a snake and a patch bay. I was using XLR's for everything before, but now i need a bunch of balanced TRS 1/4's.

I have the audiophole 2496 and have been sreiously eyeing the 1010LT, at only 200 dollars it's the sweetest deal I have seen.

mithra6 is right you should be able to accese the mixer window through the icon in the task bar, or the controll pannels.

Deffinitly go to the M-auido web site and down load the latest diriver pack for the 1010. If it's anything like the dirver pack for the 2496, and i'm sure it is, it's a one-click fix all installer.

good luck.

I'm not sure how it is done in Audition, but after u get the drivers installed and updated via the M-Audio web site and everything connected, you should be able to select the audio device to use for record and playback. This is usually done in the recording application u are using. There should be a dropdown menu for audio stuff. When selected, you should see a list of installed audio devices. Select the one you wish to use. After this is done, you will need to select the appropriate input/outputs. At least thats the way its done in Cubase, Sonar, and Samplitude. One thing to remember is to follow instructions carefully when installing new gear. Getting out of step can cause problems.

Good luck, the Delta series is a very cost effective way to get some good quality audio work done. For the price, I don't think you can beat them. Don't forget to ocassionally check their web site for updated drivers. They seem to quickly address problems and updated recording software.
