I have a Delta 1010 rack with a 5 mic Behringer mixer as a pre amp. I have a drum machine running into the mixer which i get the live monitor through head phones.

Main outs on the mixer to the Delta 1010 ports 1/2.

In Vegas Pro software i see that it is getting the signal from the drum machine and it has no problems recording and playing back whats been recorded through the software.... but i have no monitor
only playback. Any ideas

I am trying to get a monitor signal through my sound card basically.

I don't have the 1010 but I bought my father the 66 about a week ago and went up north to help him set it up.

Either you need a headphone amp that you will connect to the monitor outs... or you need to use the "monitor input" button on whatever program you use. I don't use Vegas but for Sonar it's the button that looks like this

Hope that helps.

thanks

thanks a lot for the reply. but if anyone knows specifically about the 1010 or wether or not the sound blaster live has conflicts when you run through 2 external devices (mixer and 1010) i dont know.

i know that i used to have just the mixer which id line/ins in my bass guitar and from the mixer monitor out to my sound card i used to be able to play it live through the card and it would monitor just fine.

but so long as ive had the mixer and 1010 i cant get a monitor signal

I have read and reread your question, and I am still not sure what you are asking.
If you are asking how to monitor live input to your Delta card, from the Delta card, that is an easy answer. If you are asking how to monitor the live input of the Delta from a sound blaster card ... you cant.

For monitoring from the 1010, first you must have something hooked up to the outputs of the channels 1 / 2 outputs (typically) like a headphone amp/powered speakers or a couple channels of your mixer. Then open the m-audio applet for the 1010 and check your settings for the output. You probably want to assign the monitor mixer to outputs 1 / 2 which will let you build a mix of what is at the inputs of the card with what is coming from the computer., you will then need to look at the monitor mixer screen and check to see if you are getting level on the input of whatever channels of the card you have your drum machine plugged into. Then slowly move the fader up until you have a decent volme being routed out the outputs to your monitors.

I have several 1010s I use every day. I may not have explained it properly. Feel free to ask again, I'll do my best to answer.

thanks

thanks for the help.

i had got that far already though, it was just the sound blaster live card i have, at one time using the mixer only (behringer) connected the sound card was giving me monitor thru my comp speakers.... which are also connected the the sound card........

it just wasnt working so simple with the delta thrown into the mix......

so i went to radioshack got some adapters to run it thru a sterio and i now have monitor, record, and playback..... i need to start miCing instraments, and what is DAT?

what the hell is DAT

what is dat? is it key essential?

also who makes really great sounding acoustic pickups (brands $) i have a Dean Markley zh-7.... and going thru a behringer\delta 1010\vegas pro software its muddy and lowlowlow....maybe settings in vegas are not set correct or

should i mic ?
