I record strictly audio and usually have to do 2-3 takes to get a take right. I know that each time I record anything, it creates a file on my hard drive. I also know that I can go to the audio pool and see a list of the files that my song actually uses. I also know that you can drop down from file and delete any unused files. This would be perfect, problem is it doesn't work. It appears to work, but when I close the song and reopen it, the files are back! In fact, I can open Wavelab and play them, so I know they haven't been deleted. I have been messing with this all morning. Anybody have any ideas? The files are not "read only", I already checked that. Thanks for any help...

Have you tried 'purge unused segments"? This usually works for me. Also, when you record a take that you know you don't want to keep, use CTRL BACKSPACE. This will permanently delete the take. Be careful no other tracks are highlighted when you do this.. or their history.
