Any mix/performance comments are welcome and appreciated. :)

Thanks,
Greg. :)

Here's the corny lyrics:

Black as night and polished steel, you're powerful behind the wheel.
Late at night and all alone you're cruisin through the dangerzone
Screeching tires and broken glass, you feel it when you mash the gas
They can't win and you can't quit
The power is the thrill of it

Whoa, you're gonna take em on a DEATHRIDE!

Everyone, the whole damn town, they all stare when you come around
You're well known for your rumbling sound, you line em up and shut em down
The girls get scared and the guys get pissed, the street at night is your snake-pit
They can't win and you can't quit
The power is the thrill of it

(chorus)
You're gonna take em on a Deathride
They run and hide when you're on a Deathride
You punch the gas and you're on a Deathride
You're living fast when you're on a Deathride

(little solo)

There's no one left, they all went home, once again you're all alone
Back to roam the streets at night, they all went down without a fight
Smoke and fumes still in the air, ghosts of hopes prove you were there
Light em up just for fun
Your night is through, your work is done.

(chorus again, twice)

Hope yall like it. :D

awesome song. awesome work. just... awesome.

said that, i wouldn't go so deep with the kic and maybe a little bit fuller in the lead vocal (these are my tastes, but i assume the vocals in punk rock are commonly more buried than them).

forget it, i loved the song and it's very well mixed. really.

The Whoa-oh-oh backing vocal in the chorus is great. The main vocal is pretty bright but not out of balance.

Awesome song! Sounds great! Killer work! Makes me want to go fast:eek::eek::eek:

NICE!!!!! Makes want to go out and mow my lawn or something.
You doing everything?

Great energy ........ impressive.
Like the drums (natch) but I like the song itself and the energy level ........ very cool.

Thanks for listening and the feedback. There is some sibilance going on. I'll lok into taming it without losing the crispness.

Good. Go fast! Thanks. :D

Thanks man. Yeah I do everything. :)

Rocks....no nits here, everything sounds killer to me...love the guitars!

Thanks queepyaxe. :D

Greg?
Is this THE Greg L?
Um Greg, you can um, well I don't know how to put this Greg but...
YOU WRITE ROCK N ROLL SONGS!!!
This is cool in so many ways - it needs a Ratfink sticker though!
I like the outro too!

Thanks Ray! Rat Fink rules!

Very high energy. I take it you like punk?

Musically it definitely changes up enough. Production is great, as I believe I remember all your stuff being (kinda begs the question - why do you still bother posting in the MP3 clinic, you obviously know what you're doing).

Only gripe is that all you achieved is a gourmet punk song, but the genre is so overblown even punk artists hate themselves nowadays for being sellouts. I think the suicide rate among punk musicians doubles any other genre (next being Jazz thanks to rampant heroine use and bipolar :D ).

BTW, I'm mostly joking ;). Great song :).

Lol. Thanks for the feedback. But if the genre is overblown, what would you suggest I play? Emo, Radio-pop, Rap, Country, indie?

I hate to break it to you, but that would be selling out. This is what I naturally like, and this kind of crap seems to come out of me naturally, and I aint making a penny off of it, so I don't I think I'd consider myself a sellout. :p

I post my songs in here because getting feedback is what made me get better. If my stuff sounds kinda decent now, it's because I learned in here. I realize that a lot of people just post their shit for positive feedback. That aint me. My first recordings sucked, and I kept posting them. I'd get feedback, and I'd get back to work. I'm still trying to get better. I read comments in other threads about other people's songs and I try to see if I can hear what's being critiqued. I listen for things that I like in other people's recordings and try to apply it to my own. I'm still trying to learn.

You've listened well too...

I love the intro and outro with the feedback/sustain.

The guitars are what grabbed me...I freaking love that tone you got on the leads. What did you use ...kind of guitar and amp and effects...? If it wasn't for them, it would just be another punk rocker song...but you made it something special with the guits...

Overall performance is excellent Greg and I hear nothing wrong with the mix...as usual.;)

Cool stuff Mr. Songwriter....:D

Thanks true. The guitars are pretty simple. SG, through my Digitech processor set to a "boutique" amp setting, into my junky amp with a 57 in front. The leads are the same tone as the rhythms with some delay added.

Great song and great mix Greg. I don't know how you do it but your mix is incredibly even and level. Everything nice and audible and the mix has a smooth compression to it. Great job!

Thanks Ido. I just push buttons and turn knobs until it sounds decent.:D

Isn't Emo Radio-Raptry already a genre? You just can't seem to find anything to call your own... or we've run out of labels. :D

My prior post was only half hearted. I still need feedback on tunes every now and then, even though learning from posts in the clinic is more rare now than it used to be. I'll be starting work next week with a drummer and having to mic a live kit is something I haven't done or needed to do in many years. I'll probably be back with some mixes shortly thereafter for tips.

You definitely sound seasoned. I wouldn't touch anything in your current 'process'. Everything is well balanced and has great presence. You have achieve home recording nirvana. You may be excused.

Lol. I'm going for a Southern-hardcore-surf-punk-a-billy-rock kind of thing. :D
