But kcearl said "vocals could be a bit clearer"...probably listening to the second version where I brought the vocals down a bit. Original comments were that the vocals were too upfront!

Seems I am having trouble getting that vocal / guitar balance just right. Maybe it comes down to differences in the systems you are listening on. Any suggestions on getting that sweet balance?

I thought the vocals in the second version were easy enough to hear. But you might want to give them a small EQ boost at 5K or so. That might clear them up a bit. IMO they don't need it though.

Bass sounded better in this version. Did you change anything? Or are things just not bugging me as much today?

Jamie the only thing your having trouble with is trusting yourself.

one person will say the vox are too loud, another will say they are too quiet, some will say the guitar is too thick.

Always HEAR peoples opinions, but never sell yourself by them. do what sounds right for you.
 
i did listen to the second one....Bissons right, go with your instincts...Im listening now and they dont seem as buried
 
Anyway, the recording sounds pretty good. I like the sounds and stuff. It sounds like an Irish folk song sung by a Canadian, so the American specific message doesn't really sound genuine, but whatever. Well done overall. I had no problem with any of the levels or sounds. I'm sure the occupy hipsters will eat it up and re-post it all over twitter, facebook, google+, and every other multi-billion dollar corporate social network they like to use on their smartphones, iPads, and laptops. :D

Yours was rather harsh...but I don't want you to feel like I'm just picking on you, ;) so I went through the thread and cleaned it all up.

Okay, I will. I said something political and only my comments got edited - for no reason - since other people had posted political comments before me with no mod editing. Then I said something about that, and to save face you went and edited everyone else's. Is that thought out enough?

Sorry Miro, I don't want to start a whole "thing" in this thread again...but my post was way more "harsh" or "controversial" than Greg's. It is kind of weird that you let everyone go until he posted something with commentary, just like almost everyone else in this thread did.

Deleting off-topic posts isn't the problem. Consistency seems to be.

For the record...there was some off-line stuff going on between us, after he made his on-line post...however, I then did go back and remove all the political stuff in this tread, and probably should have done so yesterday.

That said...I think Greg and I are now cool about everything, so there's no need to expand on anything more here. :)
