Man I understand...I'm kind of like that right now. Although I did do a quick freestyle at the office (when I thought no one was listening) and was told that I was good.

Sometimes you're gonna have those moments...as long as you just understand that it's a moment and it will pass, you'll be aiight.

yeah im . . . just hangin in it rite now . .. not too much spirit in me for nothin . . no writin, no beat makin, no nuttin . . .

oh u mean like some creative block shit. yea i get that all the time.... just lose inspiration.. normally hearing just the right track a get me back.... of just penning what i feel like fuck concepts fuck tryin to make it perfect just write... thats what do it for me

I've been like that for like 2 months...the last track I put up was total shit, but yeah, the right beat always fixes it.

same shit here,

to much mixed up emotions and nothing putten in music

Normally, if I just sit down and listen to some tried and true artists I'll get it back at least enough to write an ill track or two...

In no order, when I need to get that "oomph" back these are my top 10 artists to listen to for motivation.

1. Eminem (preferably Eminem Show and after)
2. Mystikal (anything BEFORE Tarantula)
3. Bone (usually BTNHRessurection)
4. Snoop (Doggfather, Eastsidaz, and guest spots that he's done in the late 90's)
5. Three Six Mafia (I prefer "When The Smoke Clears, but most of their stuff around then or after will do).
6. Petey Pablo (could probably throw on anything and it'd work)
7. Young Buck (same as above, preferably without the rest of G-Unit)
8. Swifty McVay or Kon Artis from D12 (sometimes they will say some shit that makes me rewind my shit to make sure I caught that right).
9. Jadakiss (usually his guest spots will do it)
10. E-40 (anytime before the whole Hyphy shit started...back when his rhymes were more entertaining).

Note...this is not my favorite 10 rappers (some appear on both lists) but just those who I can listen to and get my groove back, nothing more.

Personally, whenever I do become an artist & get in the same Predicament, the time I spend on halt in the booth, I take care of the business. Only way to move is to move foward. However, for artists with blocks, like they said, listen to your inspirations, jolt down ideas, plots, etc. Usually before you finished, you'll have something to write about.
Good exercises from writers, when you wake up, pick up the pad, write for only 10 minutes, no more no less, and whatever comes to your mind. No erasing, no scribbling things out etc. You'll start to wake up and want to write down something better etc.

I have a really bad habit of starting something and about an hour or so into it I just turn off all the equipment because I wasn't feelin it. I've been cussed out more than a few times for this bad habit of mine. I can't help it though I'm a perfectionist when it comes to music. I've had writers block on many ocasions and the only thing that remedies it for me is to get in the lab and work through it! Just keep banging away even if you're not feeling it. Inspiration is always one step closer when your workin to get it; at least for me.
