Recording vocals on my NT-1 is producing lots of sibilance. I have tried a software de-esser but it's not quite doing the job. Suggestions?

Try different mic positions. You get more sssss if you sing directly into the mic.

Yo Virtual One:

I had a wee little Desser box that I used for a while; it was effective but I don't use it anymore.

Maybe a different mic? Or a windscreen?

Or, meddle with the EQ highs a bit?

Or, tinker with a reverb with delay?

I appreciate the Hornet's suggestions, but I think Keijo's got it. I have to be really careful singing close up to my NTK through the Envoice, because of the sibilance, and nothing I've done in the mix can really remedy it satisfactorily.

If I had a channel strip with a de-esser (Presonus does one), I probably wouldn't have to worry about it, but I find repositioning the mic simpler and cheaper than buying the Presonus channel strip. :D
