What do you use as an outboard de esser?
Is the one in my focusrite vmp as good as any?

SPL and Drawmer make excellent dedicated units (hardware.)

On an aside.... what's the "In His Name" bit? Is God looking for a de-esser too and was too afraid to ask us directly?

Yes, She needs one, for Christ's sake. She was also asking about double tracking vocals a while ago in the mic forum. :)

That thread is hilarious!!!!!!!

In any case, Kenny - tell God or JC that I recommend the Drawmer..........! Also - please tell him those VOs he contracted from me are ready and he pick 'em up any time (since you apparently see him a lot more than I do!)

:D :D

have you ever written a letter or message to someone, and prior to signing your name, you use a salutation, such as; 'sincerly', 'thanks in advance', 'until next time', or even 'love' (gasp!)....etc.?

That's all he did.
I don't think Kenny had intentions for anyone to believe he was asking for God, but rather for himself. It's not that complicated actually.

Then God is living in the past, heavy 'verb went out in the 80's!!!!

:D

I've never owned or felt the need for a deesser. They always struck me as fix it's for cheap mics or the wrong mic./room choice. It's rare that dynamics give you too much sibilance so use those if it's a problem. Some rooms and reverb patches will also greatly enhance unwanted sibilance. Deaden the room and roll the highs off the vocal reverb return.

They could be handy for rescue operations but if you are doing the tracking then just try to fix the problem at the source.
