Hey guys I have a question for you mastering-folk or anyone that may know a bit about what I'm trying to ask. I'm doing a project with my band...we're making an album before everyone goes separate ways (college and such) so it's really nothing that's going to be put out professionally. Because of this I am doing a self-master of the tracks. I'm sending it out to a manufacturer for a short run of CD's to be produced.

My question is this: The company I'm using for manufacturing says that the audio I upload must be in either
"• CD-R master (16-bit/ 44.1kHz CDA format only)
• DDP 2.0 file set"

How would I go about creating one of the two options here? I've never done this before but from searching the web it sounds doable. I know a lot of you guys frown upon the "self-master" and stuff but I say again, it's not for public sale it's really just for friends and family so to spend money on a mastering engineer just doesn't really make sense.

I really appreciate the help guys!

The "problem" isn't the software - Even Reaper can output DDP (which is easily more robust and preferable over submitting a CD-R and should be a simple operation once a bin/cue is created). The problem is precision and "doing it right." It's not rocket surgery, but there are a whole lot of ways to go wrong and a million ways to adjust what's inside of the ONLY way to be "right."

Start on it -- And then ask specifics. We'd be writing volumes here otherwise...
