Would anyone be interested in buying DAW computers for $1000 plus shipping?

I just built myself a new DAW computer and it occurred to me that there isn't any reasonably priced DAW computers. I thought it would be great to offer others the same great price on an extremely fast computer.

Specs would be:

-Windows Home premium 32bit
-Intel Core 2 Duo Conroe 2.66GHz Processor with Rosewill 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler
-2gb DDR2 800 (pc2 6400)
-500GB Hard Drive
-Rosewill RV350 ATX 1.3 350W Power Supply
-Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R LGA 775 Intel G33 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
-Rosewill TU-155 Black 0.8mm SGCC Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
-Samsung SATA 20X DVD±R DVD Burner

I would build it myself and ship them out. Would anyone be interested?

Might want to bump those specs up to two internal drives, for the sake of direct saving while recording audio. And for the love of God, call it a computer, not a DAW.

Whats the advantage of buying one from you versus building it ourselves? Do you offer a warranty and tech support? Have you tested it with multiple interfaces and software? Does that board work well with UADs? Will you preinstall our hardware and software for free, and configure it for pro audio use? "Home Premium", is that Vista? Have you tested interfces and software for Vista compatability? Will my Waves plugins work on that system?

(you know Ive got to bust his balls just a little ;))

I was more offering this more towards the novice computer builders. I forgot to mention that for $40 dollars more a 80 gig hard drive would be included that would have all the software installed. I would not be available for tech support (I would 50-60 hour weeks). I would build them, preinstall windows vista (do all updates, bios upgrades, drivers, etc...) and if you would like to send me your uad cards, audio interfaces and other software/hardware you would like installed I would do it free of charge. That way, when you get your computer, everything is ready for you right out of the box. So I am guessing that no one is interested in this? I guess I thought there would be a lot more people who would want a fast and inexpensive system geared towards audio recording that didn't know how to build their own systems. There's alot of people in my area that want computers built because I can usually build a better computer then you can buy in stores for less money. Thanks for bustin my balls too because there are all great questions that I did not think of :).

This is an idea I've had myself, but I figured I wouldn't get much of a response because these days it seems the cost difference between buying a name brand and building your own is coming down. You can get some pretty decent computers out there for $1000, bundled with all sorts of software, warranties, and tech support. Then there's the cost of shipping. Locally I can see it working a lot easier cause of the direct contact. But that is a pretty sweet deal you're offering, so good on ya and good luck.

I'd go for a bit bigger power supply, and make sure you are get quiet fans if you are trying to tailor to the recording crowd.

so i have to assume that with you installing software, you'd be sending the legitimate copies of the software, along with any paperwork for it and the legit keys for it?

not some bootleg shit?

and to be completely honest, that's about a 700 dollar computer, at best.

anyone who wants me to put one together, i'll do it and not rip you off.

lol priced out it would be well over 800. i did it on newegg. and yes it would all be legit. i wasn't tryin to rip anyone off but my time is worth money. you were probably looking pricing up for it without vista. if you would like to do it for free it wouldn't bother me at all. i already have my hands full with 40 hours of recording during the week, djing on the weekends and computer repair and girlfriend during the other time. i just thought it might be another thing to get my hands into. i like to stay busy and most importantly i like to learn. so if no one is interested thats quite fine, its just one less thing for my girl to bitch about :).
