Davisound...... Who owns it and do you like it?

I Just ordered a customized TB-6 Off of Hayne....

2 "Mic all" Channels
Large lighted VU meter for each channel.....
All the inputs on Front panel....(XLR and INST per channel)
All put into a TB-1 All wood Box (even faceplate)
(Those big VU's wouldn't fit on the TB-6 box)


Any of you guys have any Davisound.... What do you think?


(I searched and saw a few posts about DS but not much... I think RE has one....)????
 
yeah, RE has one...he posted some clips of TLM103 I believe it was thru one and the sound was amazing......of course the sound youll get from it depends on the entire signal chain (mic,pre,wire,recorder) as well as the room....i can tell ya, from what i heard, its a killer pre.....

email RE and he can probably give you more info....
 
Yeah according to their site the Mic-all pre's are the most transparent pre's available...

(whether thats true or not...I guess I will have to wait and see.... But I hear so many good things about them, I wouldn't be suprised....)

Im also Running a Focusrite ISA-430 Producers Pack.... ($3000) and will be using 4060 and 4033's for mics...


I just wanted a stereo pre just so I can have some matched pre's..... I can run Drum overheads through them etc... or whatever else...
 
Oh, and about the signal chain being important, I totally agree with you.....

Especially cable...

Using shit cable is like trying to get decent pressure out of a garden hose with lotsa holes in it

Im recording on my PTLE (Digi 001, (24 bit))
 
BG, what was the cost? Last summer Hayne quoted me $495 for a standard TB-6 but with only two pres. Yours sounds like it would be closer to the $650 price of the standard TB-6 with 4 mic alls.
 
Hey guys..

I was quoted $750.00 Tax included, Delivered anywhere in US.

Plus I took the discount for paying all the cash up front and it turned out to be $727.50

They are thinking about offereng "my amp" as a new tool box..... I guess Im aloud to say it, Hayne didn't say it was a secret..
 
Oh, and, 6-8 weeks....

Standard wait is 4-6 weeks.. but being custome and all... that tacks on a few extra weeks...
