DAT To Hard Drive Problem

I am running analog out L/R, from the DAT to my computer in...Using sound forge XP 4.5, all I'm getting is a low volume distorted file of the song I'm trying to transfer..
Any help would be appreciated!

Dougie, you the same guy with the Opcode? Sounds like you have something basic wrong over there. Do you know about the Windows recording controls? Did you read the "basics" pages?
