Hey, this was fun. Playing was nice. Nice tones on the piano and bass. Lyrics were fun.

My suggestions:
- I like the effect on the vocal, just try to tame the harshness some.
- Timing problem at 1:46. Awkward. It really stuck out to me.
- Kazoo idea is cool. I think it takes this piece to the next level creatively. Execution is not quite working. I think maybe a new melody line not so close to the main vox with maybe a few less notes and maybe bring it down some and/or a touch of verb/delay. A kazoo solo would be fun too right after the cool piano solo! :D

Chilling out this afternoon. Enjoyed this. I like the effect on the vocal. Even on lo-fi stream it sounds cool.
 
I really liked this song. It has a great "20's Grammaphone" sound to it, and almost sounds like it is mixed in mono which is kind of appropriate for the sound.

My only nitpik is the highs on the vocal. Maybe it just needs a bit more balancing on the eq, but song wise and arrangement wise this is excellent! Love the lyrics too, very creative!

The drums were mixed very well, the whole mix is smooth ... and yes, I do like the effect on the voice, you stayed 'in character' the whole time ... I could understand EVERY word on the first listen, never challenged to understand a word.

Ya know ... the vox is very well mixed considering what you've done to it.

the mouth harp is a bit to loud, I'd drop it to extreme left stereo and drop it about 6db, it's just for effect IMHO.

I know ! I want to dress as a clown and play the cello on this ONE !

Thanks for entertaining us, this is almost vaudville kind of stuff. Excellent collaboration.
Oh my, I've let it play a third time ... you know what that means ... it's a keeper !

Wow...

So many people responded to this tune, that I will genuinely thank you corporately...

Hearing from people around here that I hold in high esteem as musicians, producers, and my favorite lyricist, I am truly encouraged to keep recording stuff.

And I gave everyone a break from the sappy pop stuff.

I've taken all criticisms to heart..The kazoo track was wiped out, I'll have another pass at it a little behind the vocals this time.

I've chopped down the brashness of the mids in the vox, too.
And I will re-post the newer mix of it by the weekend.

This tune was basically carried by Dafduc...The man's skills AND ear for what you are trying to do is impeccable.

Really enjoyed the lyrics, and can identify with them... you sing the truth, Doughy :)

Mood/style very sweet... the megaphone FX are a good idea to make it sound like an old tymey 78 speed record.

Nice PNO daf. Good job all around. :)
