Hmmm... Normally I'm all for cheesy and strange synth sounds, but this one didn't really do it for me.

I think a lot of your sounds (especially the strings and bass) just sound like Casio or Garageband presets making it sound "fake" (and not in a good way).

The actual mix is balanced pretty well. Everything seems to be sitting together pretty well

Many thanks for the comments. ------ and any further advice or suggestions regarding how to improve the sounds { I'm using a Yamaha MO8 } they would be much appreciated.

The weird squealy sounds you used sounded OK, but all of the stringed instrument synths were pretty bad. Also, I'm not sure how to describe it, but the melody on the right around 2:37. That synth is pretty weak too.

I don't know all the capabilities of your Yamaha, but hopefully it's got some good stuff on there!

Mindful of your comments, I had another listen. Think I'll have a remix, and if I can't improve on the sounds, I might even dump the keyboard, which I've never been really happy with.

The sounds didn't bug me as much as they did VHS. Just differences of opinion.

The only thing I'd say is that kick is pretty loud.

Thanks for your response.
Believe or not, I'd already started re-recording the kick. Having listened to other uploaded tracks, I felt that not only was mine a bit loud, but also heavy, dull, kind of opaque.

To try and retain that punch, while not being too heavy, I've adjusted the EQ, at source, i,e, on the Yamaha, and not waited [as I've been doing],'til its been recorded in Cubase before making these adjustments. Oh, and I also tweeked the Attack time, which to me, improved things.

Any further comments would be appreciated.
