DOH! Why isn't the

Yeah...by the time I get my computer built and figure out how to use the new software it's gonna be September before I get anything recorded :D

Oh BTW...Here's my new systems specs that I finally settled on (parts being shipped as we speak)

Some sort of generic ATX case w/ 400w psu (it was free so I can't complain - otherwise I was going with an Antec case w/350W psu)

Abit BH7 mobo (pretty sweet for the price)
P4 2.4 ghz processor
Lite on 52x24x52 CDRW
Lite on 16x DVDROM - 48x CDROM
Mitsui FDD
New SBLive Value (for sound fonts - yet to purchase - Oh crap..haven't investigated if I need this now with Sonar or not)

From my old system I'll take:

1010lt
Gainward GEForce4 TI 4200 128mb

Welcome to computing in the 21st century :D

I should have enough parts left from my old system to cobble together a system for miy daughter (will need to buy monitor & keyboard) to play her games on:

PIII (1ghz or 600mhz depending on what I can get to work stably)
Diamond Viper 770D 32 mb gfx card (TNT2 chipset)
SBLive Value
CDRW
CDROM
Zip
13 gb HD

That is if everything works out alright :D

Ok, repeat after me:
"I don't need the SB Live!"

Seriously, if you want to use soundfonts, get the Livesynth Pro DXi. :)

Thanks...I thought I remembered reading something like that here. I just couldn't totally recall it. Hence, my indecision. I was about to do a search but you saved me the effort :p :D

Thanks :D

No problem! I'll do it again if you want to... :D

Oh PLEASE!!! Would ya, Would ya, Would ya!!!!

Ooooo....I like it like that.

Oops...got a little carried away there :D

Remember, the Live Synth Pro that is included with Sonar is just a 30 day demo. If you want the full blown product, it's gonna run you about $60.00.

However, with your Delta 1010, my recommendation would be to go for the DXi rather than the SB Live. Much more versatility and ease of use. With the SB Live you're gonna have to record all your midi to audio before you can play it back through the Delta. With the Live Synth Pro you just kinda "plug and play."

And for just a little bit more than the SBLive...sounds like the way to go.

Thanks guys :D

By ditching the SB Live! you'll get rid of countless headaches... believe me! :)
