cut instead of boost

how would i get more high end by cutting without messing up the low end or midrange cause i know that boosting adds phase shift
 
You want to get more high end without boosting. But, you don't want to cut any lows or mids. :confused:

Both boosting and cutting induce phase. That's how equalizers work.
 
i'm not saying i don't want to cut at all i mean i don't want to cut it to the point where it's all gone and even after that the high end could still not be enough.
 
Cutting and boosting add the same amount of phase to the signal. When you cut, you are adding a signal that is 180 degrees out of phase, when you boost, you are adding a signal that is in phase. It's the same process either way.

If there is too much of something, cut it. If there isn't enough of something, boost it.
