Hope it's okay to post this here; the section said for things that don't fit anywhere else. Just stumbled on the "save rock and roll" album by fall out boy > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H10e5YT6QQc
I skimmed through it expecting to hear some classic instruments like Kravitz or Sabbath, but everything sounds unnatural to me. Does this qualify as rock n roll to you? I'm on the fence about the band, because i honestly have not listened to them enough. I listened to probably 20 seconds of the songs. Do you strive for this sound? It's hard to explain, but it sounds harsh and unnatural. Maybe i haven't been listening to enough recent recordings. Or, maybe i'll grow to like it. These recordings sound like commercially produced pop, and not rock n roll. Why put that in the title? I just don't hear the elements that represent a rock band. If you disagree, that's fine. Interested in what you think about the production.
