I've been using Cubase 2.5 for about 7 years and I'm finally gonna upgrade to VST so I can record audio as well as midi.
I have a G3 computer and a Roland GM sound module, mixer etc... but is there anything else that is going to be mandatory to get before I can make full use of Cubase VST as a home recording studio?
I keep reading about sound cards, external scsi drives, massive amounts of Ram etc....
Will I need all this extra stuff and if not, how will my recordings suffer if I just go with the basic computer and what I already have.
Thanks for any help

How r u going to hook you analog to your mac? are you planning on using a MOTU?

What's a MOTU?

I thought that I could just go in through the rca inputs straight from my mixer, but I'm starting to sense that I'm supposed to get some kind of sound card with inputs of it's own.
(Can ya tell I'm totally clueless on this)
Like, I've a ready got an outboard sound module with GM sounds on it...
and that'll be powered by midi, the audio will be basically guitar... so I don"t get what the sound card is for.
