Hi all,

Is anyone here using SX with the DM-24?...I'm trying to setup a template to use the DM as a control surface with SX, as well as my front end for recording. And be able to switch back and forth when needed.

...Any help would be much appreciated!

Thx,

Stixxs

I dont use the DM-24 but you should check the CD which came with it for an XML file to import in to the SX generic remote section in the devices menu. If it does not come with one then you will have the fun job of manually programming SX to learn the midi functions. Its to complex to go into here, you should view the manuals. If you need any further help let me know.

Cheers

Keith,

Are you referring to the generic remote in SX's 'device setup' menu? I've used both the generic and the Tascam DM-24 (HUI) in the menu and set them appropriately in the Tascam MIDI/MC window.

So far not real stable, I get a MIDI overload message (on the DM-24) after switching songs in SX with fader, fwd, rew, mute & play...not exactly the Mackie Control, if you know what I mean.

Have you used the unit with any success, as a C/S?

Thx,

Stixxs

I use Cubase SX generic remote system (the one in device setup) for my novation remote 25 keyboard. I used the XML file which came with the CD but i have drastically modified it to match my requirements and thus far everything has run smoothly.

Just an idea but have you also set the DM to midi out on the generic remote page?? Maybe you have some kind of midi loop which the DM cant handle. Try leaving the generic remote midi out box blank.
