Hi there iv just recently change from a wimdows pc to a emac and iv just add cubase to the emac, im using a roland pc300 midi keybord with the software but im having trouble setting it up. Audio goes in and out perfect but midi is going in but not cumming out. The input on the midi says rolland pc300 but my out put says pc300 midi out is this correct or do i need it to say the same as the audio chanals which is bus 1 or surround pan can any1 help please jimmy.
This all depends on whether or not you soundcard has a built in synth or offers a Soft synth. Setting to roland pc300 is sending the output to the keyboard as if it where an external sound module, and unless that keyboard is also a synth and has an audio output ... you won't hear anything.
If the keyboard or your soundcard don't offer any form of hardware or software synth, you would need to use a VSTi as the output of your MIDI tracks.
