Cubase SX audio output question, please help.

Hey,

On Cubase SX, is it possible to use one soundcard for audio input and one for output? For example, I want to record through my M-Audio Delta 44 pci card, but I want to output everything to headphones or speakers from my computers soundcard.

I'm just putting a comment here cause i'm curious to find the answer and want to be automatically notified when someone posts here.

I've got an audiiophile card and need more inputs. I'd be looking at getting another one depending on the answer to this post.

I believe you can do that but I don't think its a good idea. Unless the cards use the exact same chip, the timing could be off. Each card uses an onboard crystal that is vibrated for timing. Different crystals equals timing differences. This is just an educated guess, however. Try it and see!
