Hello All... I am trying to get my new Cubase SX to work with my old Tascam US-428. It is supposed to but I cant seem to get anything other than my input line A to work (I am not even trying to deal with MIDI right now)-- but the fact that I cant get my other analog inputs to be recognized or get any of the controls to work is frustrating.

The instructions read:
The US-428 can remote control up to 64 mixer channels and 1 or 2 DSP Factory cards, if installed.

When the Tascam US-428 device is added in the Device Setup dialog, you can open the Remote Status window by selecting "Tascam US-428" from the Devices menu.

The problem is that while the US-428 is selected as the master ASIO driver there is no option to select "Tascam US-428" from the Devices menu.

I too have one of the OLD Tascam 428's. I do not like fighting with it. Seems things are always going south. What worked last week, quit this week etc.
So I got myself a Presonus Firepod and said goodby to Tascam FOREVER.

What software were you using before with the 428? I am sure the trouble is in the devices setup.

I used to have a US-428 before I got my HUI and it worked fine. I had a lot of problems getting it sorted until I went to the Tascam website and downloaded the updated installation files. It's an old enough unit and it came with Cubasis - quite different to SX (also I don't think it was configured specifially for XP...). Here's the link: http://www.tascam.com/Products/US428_downloads.html

After you download the necessary files, click on the link on the left side of the page to go back to the US-428 product page and there are more support links to help with installation and set-up. Hope that helps!
