I know everyone has different opinion, but I'm having a hard time choosing between CuBase LE and Sonar Home Studio.

Any thoughts from someone who has actually used both would be great.

I already have CuBase, but I want whatever is easiest to use - I don't really care about the $99 and would gladly dump the (free, bundled) CuBase SE if Sonar HS is better.

you say you have SE and your considering LE?...LE is lower than SE...

I find Sonar to be a little more confusing that SE but seems to have more features.

I prefer Sonar Home Studio. The pop-ups in Cubase drive me crazy! I also use drum loops and loops are a lot more friendly in Sonar HS. I recently switched from Cubase LE to Sonar Home Studio 4 XL and like it a lot better. It really all come down to personal preference.

I'm not sure what "pop-ups" you are referring to. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the programs are roughly comparable. Some people will prefer the overall layout of one program over another, but functionally, they are very similar. You probably won't gain a lot by going to Home Studio, but if you went up to Sonar, you might. Same with LE/SE to SX.

By pop-ups, I mean that in Cubase, the mixer, effects, etc. pop up in a different window instead of being in the main window. I just think the interface is cleaner in SONAR Home Studio 4. As I said, it all comes down to personal preference. Functionally, they are similar.

I'd go with Sonar. The user forums over on the Cakewalk site are great! Outstanding support and a great peice of software to boot. Not to mention a company that actually listens to the users!

Personally, I'm a Sonar 5 Producer user. I love it!
