is there a way i can get my old cubase sx projects to function in reaper please help

Will Reaper open Cubase projects? No.
However if you still have Cubase you can solo each instrument or track, export it to a wav and import it to Reaper.

I'm not sure that SX had 'Batch Export'. I am assuming not. Basically, you just need to solo each track, and export each as a .wav file. Make sure to keep your markers set at the same start/stop so that they all line up at the same on import to Reaper.
