Cubase LE midi track volume problem

I'm using Cubase LE 1.0.10. I have a midi track using the GM drum map.

For some reason I'm not able to change the volume using the fader or automation.

I have found a few posts on the web about this. Any ideas?

Audio tracks are working fine.

midi volume only works on devices that respond to midi volume. If what you are sending the midi data to does not, then it wont do anything at all

Change the volume on the track for the vst instrument it's going into.
