Arcadeko used to use one of these, and was able to get it to work. Though, I do not remember which model he had, nor which OS he was using. And, he is a software programmer, so he may have tweaked some sheite. He hasn't been around lately, so not sure if he would be of help.

Maybe if he disabled Realtek in Control Panel> Device Manager Cubase would find the Alesis as the only soundcard left?

Justafort.

I think Im gonna go ahead and get a new mixer. Shouldnt be hard to install a new driver and other stuff thanks to you guys! Any ideas on what to get? I dont need anything with a lot of channels, and not looking to spend a whole lot of money. Just something that is reliable and works with my computer/Cubase LE

I'd say don't get a mixer. I find most home recording types like us only need two channels. That's all I ever use at one time.

So the options abound!! I have the scarlet 2i2 and like it. There are many other two channel USB interfaces on the market. You don't need a mixer.

ok, so I just got a 2 channel AudioBox USB, and its working fine, except when I record my guitar using it in Cubase, no playback!!!!!!

Probably just need to read the manual. Everything we talked about earlier with drivers, VST Connections, etc, still apply.
